One of our favorite things about starting Apple Bear Cookie Co. is visiting local schools and events to read, sing, and chant The Apple Bear Cookie Book and Song.

Getting a local author to your school can help promote literacy and learning and is a memorable experience for students.

Sudbury Cooperative Preschool, January 2025 School Visit

What an amazing school and the perfect stage! The Sudbury Cooperative Preschool had two age groups: 2 to 3-year-olds, then 4 to 5-year-olds. Susan gave two different presentations to the age groups to engage children individually at their learning levels. Susan talked about great authors and their ideas, imagination, and how ANYONE can become an author at any age. Of course, after, she read, chanted, and sang The Apple Bear Cookie Book & Song with the two groups! The children loved meeting Buster Bear too. Read more here.

We are blown away by the Charlestown Nursery School and their founder, Kelly Pellagrini. Buying copies of our book for all students as well as for another local school was a true commitment to education. Kelly is truly helping kids’ development and the community.

In Apple Bear Cookie Co.’s hometown of Wakefield, MA, Susan and Lynsie loved visiting The Woodvile Elementary School during their school’s book week! Susan taught at this school years before. It was a tremendous moment for the ABC Co.’s team going back to this school. The preschool and kindergarten kids loved singing, chanting, and reading along with The Apple Bear Cookie Book!
